Despite the Boston Celtics being touted as a bad matchup for the Golden State Warriors in 2022, Steph Curry would not be denied his fourth championship. Putting Golden State on his back, Curry led the Warriors to another title, winning his first Finals MVP award in the process.

During a recent episode of the Run Your Pace podcast, former Celtics forward Juwan Morgan revealed a wild moment after Game 3 of that Finals series, when Curry told the Celtics to enjoy their last win:

This is a wild thing to say when down 2-1 in the NBA Finals, but Curry was confident in his ability to lead Golden State to three-straight wins, and did exactly that. The Warriors did not lose another game in that series, and went on to win their fourth title of this dynasty.

While Curry was already stamped as an all-time great prior to that Finals series, winning his first Finals MVP, and against a team like Boston, certainly elevated his status in many all-time debates. Not done stacking individual or team accolades, Curry is still playing at a very high level, and hopes to lead Golden State to another deep run this postseason.

While the Warriors have a lot of work to do in order to turn their season around, Curry is the type of player who can make anything possible.
