In his best game of the 2023 playoffs, Jordan Poole was giving the Warriors a much better showing on Tuesday night vs. the Lakers than he did at any point in the opening round. Poole finished Game 1 vs. Los Angeles with 21 points and 6 assists; however, it is his final shot attempt that is getting most of the attention.

With 10 seconds remaining in the game, Poole attempted a deep three from well beyond the line, and missed it badly. While he had been shooting it well in this game, it felt as if the Warriors could have gotten a better shot in that situation, even with the clock winding down.

In an alternate broadcast, former NBA player Channing Frye and current NBA player Tyrese Haliburton reacted to Poole's shot in real time. Frye clearly felt as if Poole could have taken a better shot, but Haliburton actually defended the Warriors guard:

Steve Kerr also defended Poole after the game, saying he was pleased with the look he got. Recognizing that Curry was double-teamed, Kerr knew somebody would be open, and said that's a shot Poole can hit. Not upset with his young guard for taking that deep three, Kerr made sure to emphasize that Poole had made six threes already in the game, and got a clean look on that last one.
