Steve Kerr Responds to Jonathan Kuminga's Concerning Comments

In this story:

Golden State Warriors forward Jonathan Kiminga recently admitted he sometimes gets removed from the game for reasons he does not know. Speaking with Marcus Thompson of The Athletic, Kuminga said, “But sometimes I’ve gotta take that away to make sure my OGs get the ball. That’s where it’s confusing. Sometimes, I come out the game not knowing what I did. And that messes with my head. It’s like, ‘What they want me to do?’ I can pass and I can do different sh-t."

While these comments were very understandable from Kuminga, they were also potentially concerning for the Warriors. If Kuminga is unsure why he is being removed from the game at times, that does show at least somewhat of a disconnect between the coaching staff and players. This is where the possible concern arises; however, Steve Kerr recently addressed these comments, and took no issue with them.

"I don’t mind those comments at all," Kerr said, via Michael Wagaman of NBC Sports Bay Area. "Every guy wants to play, and JK's a really talented guy. But every game, I have to read the game, and [Andrew Wiggin] was our best player. We decided to go with Wiggs down the stretch, and those are easy decisions for me. The game before, I think JK finished, and he was playing great. It's just going to vary from game to game for everybody. That's just where our team is right now. Where JK is, too."

Believing he can do a lot of different things on the court, Kuminga wants an opportunity to showcase that, but his opportunities seem to fluctuate on a game to game basis.
