Anthony Gill Returns To UVA

We are getting closer to the NBA season and the players had a chance to spend time with their families & friends over the summer. Also, a chance to do some off-season activities. Gill was joined by former University of Virginia teammate Justin Anderson & Head Coach Tony Bennett who were recognized at halftime. The Wahoo Nation (UVA Fans) welcomed Gill back with open arms and tons of love. Anthony Gill was a 4-star recruit coming out of Charlotte Christian School in Charlotte, North Carolina. Gill would choose to play college ball at South Carolina University where he would play in every game in his freshman year before deciding to transfer to the University of Virginia to become a Cavalier. Gill would spend 3 seasons at Virginia and be a part of some of the Cavaliers’ most successful years under Head Coach Tony Bennett going 89-19 during his time at UVA.

Unfortunately, the season has started a little tough for Anthony. Gill strained his left hamstring during Tuesday’s preseason game vs. Cairns Taipans. The injury will be treated delicately and his return to play will be evaluated weekly through multiple testing. He is expected to miss two to three weeks.
