Wizards' Black-Owned DMV Program Presented By Capital One Arena Returns For 2023-2024 Season

The Washington Wizards will support Black-Owned DMV for the fourth consecutive year to showcases Black-owned businesses in the Washington metropolitan area presented by Capital One.

From November 2023 to April 2024, six businesses will be featured on the team’s Black-Owned DMV page and publicized on all major Wizards platforms. Businesses selected for the Black-Owned DMV program are required to be within a 75-mile radius of Capital One Arena. November's Black-Owned DMV Spotlight

To start the new year, Milk & Honey Café will be featured throughout the month of January. The New Orleans-inspired southern brunch restaurant features award-winning shrimp & grits, chicken & waffles, RumChataÒ French toast, and specializes in a variety of slow-cooked favorites. February's Black-Owned DMV Spotlight

Miche Beauty, founded in 2016 by Michelle and Johnathan Ballard, specializes in premium handmade haircare products. March's Black-Owned DMV Spotlight

In celebration of Women’s History Month in March, the program will highlight GMG Management Consulting Inc. This minority woman-owned small business provides management consulting and professional support services to a number of premiere government and corporate clients. Founder and CEO Georgia Griffith launched GMG Management Consulting in 2004 to provide professional accounting, auditing, training, consulting, and financial management solutions to those in the DMV area. April's Black-Owned DMV Spotlight

The final business the Wizards will recognize during the 2023-24 season is Morel’s Exquisite Designs, a small veteran-owned business that specializes in decorations, balloon artistry, and party rental furnishings. The Accokeek, Maryland-based business founded by Shameeka Morel crafts custom experiences and masterpieces for all party, celebration, and special occasion needs in the DMV area.
