WASHINGTON DC-The Wizards took on the New York Knicks in the first game after the All-Star break. This game was the third game of the season series between New York and Washington. The series was tied at 1-1 a piece.

The Season Series…

Game 1 New York defeated Washington 112-108. Jalen Brunson scored a team-high 34 points while dashing out eight assists and grabbing eight rebounds for the Knicks. Julius Randle (23 points) and Immanuel Quickley (18 points) chipped in for the Knicks in the win.

For the Wizards, Kyle Kuzma dropped a game-high 40 points along with seven rebounds and seven assists in the loss. Kristaps Porzingis (21 points) and Corey Kispert (13 points) for Washington.

Game 2 Washington defeated New York 116-105. Kuzma scored a team-high 27 points and 13 rebounds. Porzingis had 22 points with 11 rebounds. Beal scored 18 points in his return in 28 minutes of play. Deni Avdija had 14 points in the victory.

For the Knicks, Jalen Brunson had the game-high with 32 points. RJ Barrett scored 21 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Immanuel Quickley dropped 18 points in the loss.

Round 3 …

The Wizards won their last game 114-108 against Minnesota and were hoping to get win their third straight game but the Knicks had other plans. Despite having a 64-60 lead at the Half, Washington would fall 115-109 to New York. The two teams traded leads in the second half, but with 4:52 left in the 4th quarter, New York would take the lead for good.

Knicks big man Julius Randle had a dominating 46-point performance in the win. Kristaps Porzingis and Kyle Kuzma led the way for Washington combining for 46 points and scoring 23 points a piece.

Who’s Next?

The Wizards (28-31) will travel to Chicago take on the Bulls (27-33) Sunday, February 26 at 3:30 PM EST.
