Wizards Amongst NBA Leaders In Preseason

In this story:
After the many changes this offseason, many expect the Wizards to be a non-factor this season. While it is still very early and almost too early to make any bold predictions, the team is showing some solid numbers so far in the preseason.
Wizards Forward Kyle Kuzma is currently fourth in points per game averaging 20.5. Kuzma is currently sixth in field goals made averaging 7.5.
One of the latest additions to the Wizards squad, Jordan Poole is tied for seventh in three-point field goals made. Both Poole and returning Wizard Corey Kispert sit at fourth (tied) and seventh (tied) respectively in field goal attempts.
Inside the Wizards Staff Writer Tyrone Montgomery Jr noted that Corey Kispert has a good chance of winning the Sixth Man of the Year Award starting where he left off last season.
Another Wizards offseason pick-up Mike Muscala is tied for fifth in offensive rebounds averaging three in his first two 2023-2024 preseason games.
Returning Wizards Daniel Gafford is currently first in blocked shots and 23rd in total rebounds.
Delon Wright is tied for 18th in assists.
Inside the Wizards Staff Writer David Harrison shared in his article that the Wizards lead the NBA in steals with rookie Bilal Coulibaly leading the way for Washington (and the association through two preseason games) with seven total steals on the season.
While we can all hear the “it’s just preseason” chorus singing now, it is good to see the team getting on the court, establishing a rhythm, and being amongst league leaders while doing so.
