Mora out as Seahawks coach

NEW YORK (SI.com) -- The Seattle Seahawks fired head coach Jim Mora on Friday, sources confirmed to SI.com's Don Banks.

Mora's firing was first reported by FoxSports.com's Jay Glazer.

The Seahawks went 5-11 in 2009 and finished the season on a four-game losing streak. Mora was in his first season as Seattle's head coach.

Mora took over as head coach following the 2008 season after Mike Holmgren retired. Mora, who came to Seattle as an assistant in 2008, previously coached the Falcons from 2004-06.
