Ben Roethlisberger was the captain of the football, basketball, and baseball teams at Findlay High School in Findlay, Ohio. He played wide receiver his junior year and caught 57 balls for 757 yards before moving to quarterback his senior season. He also played point guard for the hoops squad and set the school's career scoring record.
After passing for 4,041 yards and 54 touchdowns during his senior year at Findlay, Roethlisberger chose to play for Terry Hoeppner at Miami (Ohio).
During his freshman year at Miami (Ohio), Roethlisberger was named conference Player of the Week three times and was voted MAC Freshman of the Year.
