2012 NFL Draft Order: Where things stand prior to Championship Weekend

A quick update on where the 2012 NFL Draft order stands heading into the conference championship games ...

Picks 1 through 20 were more or less settled following Week 17 -- those selections are reserved for the teams that did not qualify for the postseason. The next four slots (21-24) then belong to the four teams eliminated on the first weekend of the playoffs. Likewise, picks 25-28 are now set, with the divisional round completed.

The 8-9 selections and 11-12 will depend on a coin flip. Miami and Carolina finished with identical 6-10 records and matching strengths of schedule, leading to the coin toss tiebreaker. The same occurrence happened with Kansas City and Seattle, just a couple picks lower.
