Von Miller tried to cheat NFL drug test, according to report

Von Miller tried to cheat the NFL's drug testing program, with the help of one of the league's urine collectors, ESPN reported Sunday. Miller is currently serving a six-game suspension -- two games more than the expected punishment -- and according to Adam Schefter and Chris Mortensen it "easily could have been up to a year".

The collector in question was fired by the NFL, though reportedly Miller did not pay any money to try to sidestep the test.

The circumstances surrounding Miller's suspension remained relatively mysterious when the news first broke. Miller tweeted: "I know I did nothing wrong. I'm sure this'll be resolved fairly." The NFL Network's Albert Breer reported last month that "a diluted sample caused the most recent violation of the NFL's substance-abuse policy, but the case has complications that go far beyond that."

Miller's issues have gone beyond the questionable drug test, too. In August, Miller was arrested after failing to show for a court appearance. The Broncos star reportedly has another warrant out in California for the same infraction.

Denver has done just fine in Miller's absence, routing Baltimore in Week 1 and then doing the same to the Giants in Week 2. The Broncos will host Oakland on Monday night with a shot to move to 3-0. Also on the schedule before Miller is eligible to return: home games vs. Philadelphia and Jacksonville, and a road trip to Dallas.

Miller does not appear to be facing any additional penalties off of this latest revelation. The NFL, however, may reassess its current testing procedure, per ESPN.
