AJ McCarron connected to Arizona Cardinals in 2014 NFL draft, per reports

The Arizona Cardinals had some unexpected success last season with Carson Palmer running the offense, but he is set to turn 35 years old at the end of the season so the team will need to start looking to the future at some point soon.

There has been some speculation that the Cardinals could be a dark horse to land one of the top quarterbacks in the 2014 draft class if one begins to slide down in the first round, but it looks like they may be eyeing one of the second-tier quarterbacks.

According to NFL.com's Daniel Jeremiah, "a lot of personnel guys" have connected the Cardinals to Alabama QB AJ McCarron.

There is no reasoning given for the Cardinals' presumed interest in adding McCarron, but they did have reported interest in adding Matt Barkley out of USC just one year ago. If they are looking for a guy to groom for a couple of years before handing him the offense, McCarron could be very well suited for the job.
