Charlie Whitehurst, Tennessee Titans QB, loses jersey number in arm wrestling contest

Quarterback Charlie Whitehurst is getting ready to enter his ninth season in the NFL and his first as a member of the Tennessee Titans. Throughout his career, at Clemson and in the NFL, Whitehurst has always worn the No. 6.

Well, that's until this season as Whitehurst not only had to give up the jersey number, he was forced to do it in maybe the most embarrassing way possible.

Per Whitehurst's Instagram, he lost the right to wear the number by way of being defeated in an arm wrestling contest. Now had he lost the battle to a defensive back or running back, that wouldn't be so bad. But, no, he was downed in the test of arm strength by ... punter Brett Kern.

Whitehurst captioned the photo: "Arm-wrestled the punter for #6 and lost #itwasagoodrun6 #13years"

This is actually something new. Generally when there is a dispute over a jersey number, one party just agrees to pay the other a lump sum of money, or they buy them a gift. These two, however, decided to act about as old-school jock as you can get, throwing down in an arm wrestling contest.
