Houston Texans LB Brian Cushing says he'll be ready for season opener

Houston Texanslinebacker Brian Cushing says he will be ready for the start of his team's season. 

Cushing suffered a broken fibula last October, but he is confident he will have recovered in time for Houston's opener against Washington. He recently told the team's official website that he will be ready to go for the season opener. 

"I know I’ll be ready," the inside linebacker said on Tuesday evening. "I know when it’s go-time, and I need to ramp it up and get on the field, I’ll be there."

It is currently unclear when Cushing will return to practice for Houston. The Texans open training camp when rookies report on July 21.
