Despite skipping out on minicamp and the entire offseason program, Chiefs outside linebacker Justin Houston expects to be present for training camp, according to a tweet Tuesday night from NFL.com's Ian Rapoport.

The 25-year-old is entering the final year of his rookie deal but appears willing to participate in order to get a new contract in place. Houston, a two-time Pro-Bowler, has 21 sacks over his past 27 games.

The news comes on the same day that running back Jamaal Charles will reportedly continue to hold out for his own deal even though he still has two years remaining on it.

The Chiefs went 11-5 and made the postseason, an improvement upon their 2-14 record in 2012.

Training camp opens Thursday.
