The 28-year-old running back was rumored this offseason to be considering retirement.
Lynch will hold out while he seeks to negotiate a new contract. In 2012, he signed a four-year, $30 million deal that was set to pay him $5.5 million this season. For each day of his holdout, Lynch could be fined $30,000.
