The Chicago Bears have informed veteran safety Adrian Wilson they will terminate his contract, reports the Chicago Tribune's Brad Biggs.

Chicago signed Wilson, 34, in June after he missed all of last season with the New England Patriots due to an Achilles tendon injury.

Wilson spent his first 12 seasons with the Arizona Cardinals and made five Pro Bowls with the team, including four straight from 2008-11. He's totaled 27 interceptions and 25.5 sacks over his career.

The Bears will also release defensive tackle Nate Collins and several other players, according to Biggs. Rosters must be cut to 75 players by Tuesday.

Chicago opens the season Sept. 7 against the Buffalo Bills.
