Broncos coach: Wes Welker suffered concussion vs. Texans
Denver Broncos head coach John Fox told local radio station 850KOA that receiver Wes Welker suffered a concussion Saturday night in a preseason game against the Houston Texans.
Near the end of the first half, Welker caught a pass from Peyton Manning and was hit in the helmet by Texans safety D.J. Swearinger. Welker got up immediately but left the field to be tested.
On the next play, Manning threw a touchdown pass and then received a taunting penalty after running down the field to confront Swearinger.

Welker now has to pass a neurological exam before being allowed to return to the field.
Welker sustained two concussions in games last season, first in Week 11 against the Kansas City Chiefs and again in Week 14 against the Tennessee Titans.
He was forced to miss the final three games of the season, but returned for Denver's three playoff games.
Welker, 33, had 73 catches for 778 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2013.
