Detroit Lions head coach Jim Caldwell plans to speak with All-Pro defensive tackle NdamukongSuh about his most recent penalized hit on an opponent.

Suh was called for roughing the passer call after hitting Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Chad Henne in the second quarter of Detroit's 13-12 preseason win.

Expectations for new NFL coaches

Suh was fined three times last year, one for taunting, and one for roughing the passer and one for a low block, paying a total of $139,375 in fines.

“Just like I address everything else," Caldwell said to ESPN.com. "We don't cut any corners, we don't pull any punches. We talk about the issue, we talk about what needs to be straightened away, like most families would do.”

No fine has been levied against Suh as of yet for his last infraction.

KING: Why the Seahawks won’t repeat

"It's a league issue and I think it's been handled very well," Caldwell said. "I think they've handled it very well. I think they've talked about it at length and we'll leave it at that.
