The Dolphins finished 8-8 last season for their first non-losing season since 2008. They tied with the Jets for second place in the AFC East.

Ryan Tannehill is entering his third season as the Dolphins' starting quarterback. He ranked tenth in the NFL with 3,913 passing yards last season.

Miami parted ways with general manager Jeff Ireland in January. Dennis Hickey was hired as his replacement.

Though he was not placed on the PUP list, center Mike Pouncey is recovering from offseason hip surgery and is not expected to play against New England in the season opener.
