Buffalo Bills' Sammy Watkins practices, status unclear for opener
NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reported last week that Watkins "should be good to go" for week 1.
Watkins left the game against Detroit midway through the first quarter after absorbing a hit from linebacker Ashlee Palmer. Watkins first injured his ribs against the Steelers on Aug. 16 and was held out of the Bills' Aug. 23 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Watkins, 21, caught 101 passes for 1,464 yards and 12 touchdowns in his final season at Clemson. Buffalo traded the No. 9 pick as well as its first and fourth-round picks in 2015 to move up and select the him at No. 4.
Sammy Watkins was a full participant at practice today. Marrone wouldn't commit to him playing yet though. #Bills— Joe Buscaglia (@JoeBuscaglia) September 3, 2014
