Kansas City Chiefs starting defensive tackle Mike DeVito ruptured his Achilles tendon, coach Andy Reid announced on Sunday.

DeVito suffered the injury during the third quarter of Sunday's loss to the Tennessee Titans. Linebacker Derrick Johnsonalso ruptured his Achilles in the game. Coach Andy Reid announced on Monday that Both players will miss the rest of the season.

DeVito, 30, recorded 18 tackles over 14 games and 13 starts with the Chiefs last season. He spent the first six seasons of his career with the Jets after going undrafted out of Maine.

The Chiefs' next game is Sunday against the reigning AFC Champion Denver Broncos.
