Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Josh McCown left a disastrous start against the Atlanta Falcons Thursday night with an injury to his right thumb. He will not return, the team said.

McCown appeared to hit his thumb on a follow-through in the second quarter. He was replaced by second-year quarterback Mike Glennon

McCown left the game with his team trailing the Falcons, 35-0. He had completed just five of 12 passes for 58 yards. He also threw an interception to Atlanta's Kemal Ishmael that was returned for a touchdown.
