New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was the most mentioned NFL player on Twitter during Week 5, Twitter data shows

The week spans from Thursday, Oct. 2, through Monday, Oct. 6.

Brady and the Patriots handed the Cincinnati Bengals their first loss of the season in a 43-17 New England win on Sunday night. Brady threw for 292 yards and two touchdowns while completing 23-of-35 passes.

Earlier Sunday, it was reported that tension between Brady and the Patriots coaching staff could lead to the three-time Super Bowl champ finishing his career with another team. 

Russell Wilson, Peyton Manning, Dez Bryant and Tony Romo rounded out the Top 5 most mentioned players, respectively.

The Dallas Cowboys were the most mentioned team account, with the Patriots and Green Bay Packers coming next. 

Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Steve Smith Sr. was the most mentioned NFL player during Week 4.
