Tennessee Titans running back Shonn Greene won't play Sunday against the Washington Redskins, ESPN NFL Insider Adam Caplan reported Thursday.
Greene has started four games for the Titans this year, rushing for 190 yards and one touchdown on 44 carries. He missed the team's game last Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars with a hamstring injury.
University of Washington product Bishop Sankey will start in place of Greene on Sunday. Sankey this year has rushed for 211 yards and a touchdown on 50 carries.
Titans coach Ken Whisenhunt told media this week while Greene nursed his hamstring that Sankey was continuing to get better and that he was excited about the young running back, ESPN.com Titans reporter Paul Kuharsky reported.
The Titans are 2-4 and sit in third place in the AFC South Division.
