Seattle Seahawks defensive tackle Brandon Mebane is out for the season with a torn hamstring, Mike Garafolo of Fox Sports 1 reported on Tuesday.

Mebane went down in the first half of Seattle's 38-17 win over the New York Giants on Sunday with what head coach Pete Carroll called "a really legit" hamstring pull, according to The Seattle Times.

In nine games this season, Mebane recorded 20 tackles and one sack. His five tackles for loss are tied for the team-high. Mebane has been durable throughout his eight-year career, playing in 16 games in every season since 2010.

The Seahawks have won three straight games after two consecutive losses. Seattle's defense ranks third in the league with 307 yards allowed per game and fourth against the run with 79.8 yards allowed per game. But four of Seattle's next five games come against top-15 rushing offenses.

The Seahawks are 6-3 this season and two games behind the NFC West-leading Cardinals.
