New Orleans Saints rookie wide receiver Brandin Cooks has a broken thumb and could miss up to six four weeks, reports Victor Howell of Cox Sports Television.

Cooks' agent, Jeff Sperbeck, said that Cooks had successful thumb surgery and according to doctors, Cooks should be back in four to six weeks.

Cooks was injured in the Saints' 27-10 home loss to the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday. He caught five passes for 50 yards and ran once for five yards in the game. The Saints have lost two straight at home after winning their previous 11 contests at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

Cooks was the team’s first-round draft pick in May’s NFL Draft. He is second on the team with 53 catches for 550 yards and three touchdowns.
