Report: Patriots sign OL Marcus Cannon to two-year extension
The New England Patriots have signed offensive lineman Marcus Cannon to a two-year contract extension, reports ESPN's Adam Schefter.
The financial terms of the extension are unknown. Cannon was playing in the final year of his rookie contract.
Listed as New England's top backup at left tackle, left guard and right tackle, Cannon has played in all 13 of the team's games this season. He started the first three games of the year at left guard before team shuffled the line and settled on its current combination.
Cannon started the final six games last season at right tackle after starter Sebastian Vollmer went down to a season-ending injury in October.

Cannon was originally selected in the fifth round of the 2011 NFL draft by the Patriots, debuting in Week 11 that season after undergoing chemotherapy in the offseason to treat non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.
The Patriots, who are 10-3 this season and are in first place in the AFC East, currently rank seventh in the NFL in total offense, averaging 381.7 yards per game. New England hosts the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.
