New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman will not play in Sunday's game against the Jets because of a concussion, reports Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald.

Edelman, who was limited in practice this week due to the concussion and a thigh injury and did not make the trip to New York, has not missed a game in two years.

Over 14 games this season, Edelman has caught a team-high 92 passes for 972 yards. The 28-year-old is in his sixth season with the Patriots.

With Edelman out on Sunday, tight end Rob Gronkowski and receiver Brandon LaFell could see increased workloads.

After the game against the Jets, the Patriots (11-3) will host the Buffalo Bills on Dec. 28 to close the regular season.
