Atlanta Falcons running back Steven Jackson is expected to miss Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers, according to a report from ESPN.com.

Jackson, 31, suffered a quad injury in last Sunday's win over the Saints. He sat out his second straight practice on Thursday.

Over 15 starts this season, Jackson has rushed for 707 yards and six touchdowns on 3.7 yards per attempt.

If Jackson does not play, Jacquizz Rodgers and Devonta Freeman would likely see increased workloads.

The Falcons (6-9) would clinch the NFC South title with a win.
