The Panthers shut down the Arizona Cardinals in the first round after making the playoffs with just seven wins.

Week 17: Seahawks 20, Rams 6
The Seahawks scored the game's final 20 points to close the regular season with a win over the Rams. Marshawn Lynch rushed for 60 yards and the Seattle offense's only touchdown, a nine-yard run in the fourth quarter. Bruce Irvin returned an interception 49 yards for a touchdown in the fourth quarter to seal the victory.
Week 16: Seahawks 35, Cardinals 6
Led by Luke Willson's 139 receiving yards, the Seahawks piled up a team-record 596 yards of total offense in a blowout win over the Cardinals. Willson caught an 80-yard touchdown in the first quarter and added a 20-yard score in the fourth quarter to ice the game. Russell Wilson threw for 339 yards and Marshawn Lynch rushed for 113 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Richard Sherman had his fourth interception of the season as the Seahawks held the Cardinals to just 216 yards of offense.
Week 15: Seahawks 17, 49ers 7
For the second time in three weeks, the Seahawks beat the 49ers, this time eliminating their division rival from playoff contention. Russell Wilson completed 12 of 24 passes for 168 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Marshawn Lynch ran for 91 yards and a touchdown, and Jermaine Kearse added five catches for 78 yards.

Wild Card: Panthers 27, Cardinals 16
The Panthers held the Cardinals to just 78 yards of offense, the lowest total ever for a playoff game, to win at home on Wild Card Weekend. Cam Newton completed 18 of 32 passes for 198 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in the victory. Jonathan Stewart had 24 carries for 123 yards and a touchdown. Tre Boston and Luke Kuechly each had interceptions for the Panthers. Carolina's Charles Johnson had a pair of sacks.
Week 17: Panthers 34, Falcons 3
The Carolina defense picked off two Matt Ryan passes and returned them for touchdowns as the Panthers dominated the Falcons to clinch the NFC’s final playoff spot. Carolina also sacked Ryan six times in securing its fourth straight win. Cam Newton only threw the ball 16 times, but was helped out by a running game that thrashed the Falcons for 194 yards.
Week 16: Panthers 17, Browns 13
Cam Newton threw for a touchdown and ran for another score as the Panthers kept their playoff hopes alive. Cleveland could only muster eight first downs and 228 total yards under rookie quarterback Johnny Manziel, who injured his hamstring in the second quarter and did not return. The Panthers ran for 209 yards and only allowed the Browns to convert on three of 12 third downs.
