Free agent C.J. Spiller says he will not be returning to Buffalo Bills in 2015

Free-agent running back C.J. Spiller will not return to the Buffalo Bills, he said on the NFL Network Tuesday. 

The Bills reportedly agreed to trade linebacker Kiko Alonso to the Philadelphia Eagles Tuesday in exchange for running back LeSean McCoy. The trade cannot be made official until the new league year begins next week.

"I hoped that I could return (to Buffalo)," Spiller said. "Very few guys get to play their whole career at one team, but unfortunately that doesn't happen in this business and I found out today it doesn't happen in this business."

[daily_cut.NFL]Spiller, who will be 28 years old at the start of next season, played his first five NFL seasons with the Bills. His rookie contract expired at the end of this past season.

Spiller split carries with Fred Jackson during his his time in Buffalo. Jackson led the Bills in rushing in four of the past six seasons. Spiller was the team's leading rusher in 2012 and 2013.

Injuries limited Spiller to just nine games in 2014. He had 78 carries for 300 yards and 19 receptions for 125 yards. He had one receiving touchdown and one touchdown on a kickoff return. In five seasons with the Bills, Spiller had 18 rushing and receiving touchdowns.
