The Oakland Raiders have released defensive end LaMarr Woodley, the team announced on Thursday.

Woodley had played just one season in Oakland after spending the first seven years of his career with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The 30-year-old appeared in six games last season before being placed on injured reserve in October due to a biceps injury. He recorded five tackles in his six games, five of which were starts.

In his time with the Steelers, Woodley started 81 games and recorded 57.0 sacks, 299 tackles and five interceptions. He was named to the Pro Bowl in 2009.

Woodley, who had signed a two-year contract with Oakland a year ago, was selected by Pittsburgh in the second round of the 2007 draft out of Michigan.
