Report: Patriots restructure WR Danny Amendola’s contract

The defending champion New England Patriots have restructured wide receiver Danny Amendola’s contract. Amendola, 29, signed a five-year, $31 million contract with the Patriots in 2013 and will remain under contract with the Patriots for the next three seasons.

The defending champion New England Patriots have restructured wide receiver Danny Amendola’s contract, Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reports.

Amendola, 29, signed a five-year, $31 million contract with the Patriots in 2013 and will remain under contract with the Patriots for the next three seasons.

Playing all 16 games last season, Amendola recorded 200 receiving yards, 482 kick return yards, 132 punt return yards and one touchdown. During New England’s Super Bowl run, Amendola had 137 receiving yards and three touchdowns in three games.

Amendola played the first four seasons of his career for the St. Louis Rams, leading the league in all-purpose yards in 2010.

This week, the Patriots lost a pair of key players from last year's championship roster. Cornerback Darrelle Revisreturned to the New York Jets, while running back Shane Vereensigned with the New York Giants.
