Texans have just 4 picks on Day 3 of NFL draft

HOUSTON (AP) Houston's aggressive approach on the second day of the NFL draft has left the Texans thin on picks entering the final day of the draft.

The Texans traded up in the second round to get Mississippi State linebacker Benardrick McKinney and again in the third to snag Arizona State receiver Jaelen Strong.

The moves leave Houston without a pick in the fourth round on Saturday and just four picks overall in rounds 5-7. That's just fine with general manager Rick Smith, who didn't mind giving up some late-round picks to get McKinney and Strong. The Texans had a big need at receiver after releasing seven-time Pro Bowler Andre Johnson.

They could still use a running back or outside linebacker in case last year's top overall pick Jadeveon Clowney isn't healthy.
