Eagles sign LB Mychal Kendricks to four-year contract extension
The Philadelphia Eagles have signed linebacker Mychal Kendricks to a four-year contract extension, the team announced Monday.
The deal includes $16.4 million guaranteed and is worth up to $29 million, according to multiple reports. ESPN’s Adam Caplan was first to report the terms.
Kendricks, a fourth-year inside linebacker, was in the final year of his rookie contract. He has been a starter ever since the Eagles drafted him out of Cal in the second round in 2012.
Kendricks had 83 total tackles and four sacks in 12 games last season. He also forced a career-high three fumbles.

“It feels amazing,” Kendricks said, according to the team’s website. “All of the hard work went toward the end goal, which was to reach a second contract and now it's here. It feels really nice. I think security is a big thing, and the fact that it's done early, I can have peace of mind and just go out there and play the game that I love ... It's a special day.”
