The New England Patriots relived their Super Bowl XLIX win before Thursday night’s NFL season opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers at Gillette Stadium.

After an off-season made to feel longer by the prolonged Deflategate controversy, Thursday’s game marked the return of the regular season and the beginning of the Patriots’ attempt to make another Super Bowl run.

The Deflategate saga is ongoing as the NFL has appealed a federal judge’s ruling that nullified Patriots quarterback Tom Brady’s suspension, but the four-time Super Bowl champion was back on the field for Thursday’s opener.

In addition to having former Patriots cornerback Ty Law and owner Robert Kraft show off the Vince Lombardi Trophy, New England unveiled its Super Bowl XLIX banner from the Gillette Stadium rafters.
