San Francisco 49ers running back Carlos Hyde was critical of Colin Kaepernick’s decision making after Sunday’s blowout loss to the Cardinals

Kaepernick threw interceptions that were returned for touchdowns on each of the Niners’ first two possessions, putting them in a 14–0 hole they were never able to escape. Arizona went on to win 47–7.

After the game, Hyde told reporters he didn’t think the game plan needed to change.

“I mean, it’s not that you can’t throw that,” Hyde continued. “It’s just that you can’t make that turnover. There was guys open. The ball just dropped down to the other person.”

Cardinals defensive back Tyrann Mathieu, who returned Kaepernick’s second interception for a touchdown, was unimpressed with San Francisco’s offensive scheme.

Kaepernick threw a career-worst four interceptions in the game. He completed nine of his 19 pass attempts for 67 yards and scored San Francisco’s only touchdown on a 12-yard run.
