Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch will see a specialist in Philadelphia for his abdominal injury on Tuesday, head coach Pete Carroll told reporters after Sunday’s game. It’s possible Lynch could need surgery, Carroll added.

Because of the injury, Lynch was inactive for Sunday’s win over the 49ers. He played through the injury in last week’s loss to the Cardinals but was limited to just eight carries.

Thomas Rawls started in Lynch’s place on Sunday and had 30 carries for 209 yards and a touchdown, along with three catches for 46 goals and a receiving touchdown. Rawls also had 169 yards and touchdown on 23 carries in Week 5 against the Bengals.

Lynch, who turns 30 in April, is owed $9 million next season. Before this season, the last time he missed a game due to injury was in 2011.
