Cleveland Browns kicker Travis Coons set an NFL record on Monday night against the Baltimore Ravens when he recorded his 18th consecutive field goal to start his professional career.

But that likely won’t be what’s most remembered about his night.

With three seconds remaining in regulation and the score tied at 27, Coons was given the opportunity to win the game with his 19th straight field goal. Instead, his kick was blocked and returned for a game-winning touchdown by Ravens safety Will Hill.

Before the devastating turn of events, Coons’s record was set on a 21-yard field goal with three seconds remaining in the first half, which brought his team within four points of the Ravens at halftime.

Coons, 23, went undrafted out of the University of Washington in the 2014 draft. He was later signed by the Tennessee Titans before being waived before the start of last season.

The former second-team All-Pac-12 selection was signed by the Browns last December.
