Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch could return to practice on Wednesday, four weeks after having surgery to repair an abdominal injury, head coach Pete Carroll announced Monday.

Lynch has workouts scheduled Monday and Tuesday near his home in northern California and his availability for Wednesday’s practice depends on how the workouts go, Carroll added. Lynch has not played since Week 10.

Rookie Thomas Rawls, who has rushed for over 100 yards in four separate games this season, broke his ankle in Week 14 and was placed on injured reserve. Christine Michael and Bryce Brown have taken the majority of the carries since Rawls went down.

Mike Pettine will meet with Johnny Manziel over new video

In Sunday’s loss to the Rams, Seattle managed just 60 rushing yards on 22 carries, led by quarterback Russell Wilson with 39 yards on six carries.

The Seahawks play the Cardinals in their regular season finale. They have already clinched a playoff spot but could wind up as either the No. 5 or No. 6 seed.
