Monday January 25th, 2016

The Philadelphia Eagles have signed tight end Zach Ertz to a five-year contract extension, the team announced Monday.

According to multiple reports, Ertz will receive $20 million in guaranteed money and is now the fourth-highest paid tight end in the NFL.

“Nothing could make me happier than knowing I’m going to be a member of the Philadelphia Eagles for years to come,” Ertz wrote in a blog post.

“I couldn’t be more proud to be putting that work in for the Eagles, and for the city of Philadelphia. My sincerest thank you to Mr. Lurie and the rest of the organization for making this commitment to me. I am committed to doing everything I can to be the best player I can be, and to help our team get back to the Super Bowl and win it.”

Ertz, 25, was selected in the second round of the 2013 NFL draft by Philadelphia. In three seasons with the team, Ertz has accumulated 2,024 yards on 169 receptions with nine touchdowns.
