Peyton Manning responded to questions about his potential retirement after Denver’s Super Bowl 50 victory.
“I’ll take some time to reflect,” said Manning when asked, directly in a live interview, about his plans after the game. “I’m gonna take some time with my wife and kids...I’m going to drink a whole lot of Budweiser tonight.”
During the trophy ceremony, Manning reiterated that stance, adding that he got some good advice from Tony Dungy recently on the matter of retirement, and that he would take time with his family and figure things out.
The Broncos won 24–10 behind a staunch defensive effort and plenty of forced turnovers, giving Manning the second title win of his decorated career and tying him with younger brother and Giants quarterback Eli.
Manning finished with 141 yards passing on 13 of 23 attempts, no touchdowns, an interception and two fumbles (one lost).
