Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch discussed his retirement in a joint 60 Minutes Sports/Sports Illustrated segment, saying definitively that he will not be returning to the field.

“No I'm done. I'm done,” he told Jon Wertheim of Sports Illustrated. “I enjoyed my time playing, now it's time to watch my cousins do their thing.”

Lynch’s agent, Doug Hendrickson, told SI and 60 Minutes that Lynch finishing his career playing for his hometown Oakland Raiders would be a storybook ending. But Hendrickson said the running back has given him no indication of wanting to continue playing.

"Well, I know, I think if you could write the perfect story as far as the last year of his career, if he played, come back to Oakland, it makes sense right? But the reality is, look, he told me he’s done,” Hendrickson said.

But Hendrickson couldn’t unequivocally state that Lynch would stay retired.

“With Marshawn, I'll never say never,” Hendrickson said.

The full interview with Lynch will air on Tuesday’s episode of 60 Minutes Sports on Showtime.
