Police found Jacksonville Jaguars running back Denard Robinson asleep at the wheel of his car as it was sinking into a retention pond on Sunday night, but he was not charged with a DUI after police determined he was not impaired, according to ESPN.

A woman was also sleeping in the passenger seat of the vehicle, which was discovered at around 4:22 a.m. on Sunday. Neither Robinson nor the woman were injured.

Robinson, 25, confirmed the accident in a tweet on Tuesday.

“I just wanted to let everyone know I was involved in a single-car accident on Saturday night, and thankfully, everyone was safe and remained unharmed,” Robinson wrote. “I thank God every single day for the opportunities he has presented me with and I’m grateful every morning to wake up healthy.

“I should not have been driving that late or when I was that tired, but again, I’m just glad that everyone was safe. God Bless.”

The Jaguars told ESPN they were aware of the incident.

In three years in Jacksonville, Robinson has rushed for 914 yards with five touchdowns in 42 games, 12 of which were starts.
