Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson sprained his MCL in the team's 37–18 win over the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.

Wilson's recovery is going well and he is expected to play in Week 4 against the New York Jets, according to head coach Pete Carroll.

Wilson went down awkwardly after he was tackled in the second half of Sunday's game, appearing to twist his knee. Though he left the game and returned one play later, he was sidelined for a considerable amount of the fourth quarter in favor of backup Trevone Boykin.

"I don't think it's as severe as it looked, thank God," Wilson said. "I have to do some tests and check all that stuff out, but walking fine and all that, moving it well. We've got good mobility."

After the game, Carroll said that Wilson had sprained his knee “a little bit.”

The veteran signal caller finished 15 of 23 for 243 yards and a touchdown against the 49ers.

Wilson has started each of the 67 games he has appeared in since being drafted in the third round of the 2012 NFL draft.
