The NFL trade deadline is Tuesday at 4 p.m. ET, leaving teams around the league with little time remaining to close deals to enhance their rosters down the stretch or to accumulate draft picks for later use.

There hasn't been much action in the final hours before the cutoff, with just two deals—between the Bucs and the Lions and between the Patriots and the Browns—officially going through.

Trades

• After telling cornerback Johnthan Banks he was going to be released, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers instead traded him on Tuesday to the Detroit Lions for a seventh-round pick in the 2018 draft, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.

• On Monday, the Patriots traded linebacker Jamie Collins to the Browns for a compensatory third-round pick, the teams announced.

• The Chiefs signed running back Bishop Sankey off the Patriots' practice squad, Schefter reports

• Browns coach Hue Jackson has said he will not trade All-Pro offensive tackle Joe Thomas. 

• 49ers coach Chip Kelly has also denied trade rumors involving his players, saying offensive tackle Joe Staley will not be moved before the deadline.

• Wide receiver Percy Harvin came out of retirement on Tuesday to re-sign with the Bills, the team announced. Buffalo placed safety Aaron Williams on injured reserve to make room for Harvin.

• The Cowboys are interested in Dolphins defensive end Cam Wake, according to Sirius XM NFL Radio.

• The Jets are reportedly actively shopping Sheldon Richardson and the Cowboys are interested, according to Pro Football Talk.
