Jets QB Sam Darnold Suffered Sprained Thumb In Loss to Jaguars

Sam Darnold sacked during the Jets' loss to the Jaguars.

New York Jets quarterback Sam Darnold suffered a sprained thumb in the team's 29–15 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, head coach Adam Gase told reporters.

Darnold finished Sunday's game with 21 of 30 passes completed for 218 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions. However, he was sacked eight times.

Last week, Darnold was caught on camera saying that he was "seeing ghosts" during ESPN's Monday Night Football broadcast while the team dropped a 33–0 loss to the New England Patriots

Jaguars fans capitalized on mocking Darnold by flying a banner over TIAA Bank Field that said, "Gardner Minshew ain't afraid of no ghost" and then played the Ghostbusters theme song while showing Darnold on the jumbotron.

The Jets fell to 1–6 on the season. The Jets will play the Miami Dolphins next week.
