Mike Greenberg Rips Zach Wilson, Says Jets QB Can’t Start ‘Ever Again’

Jets superfan and ESPN personality Mike Greenberg let his fandom shine Monday morning when he made a bold statement regarding his favorite team’s quarterback situation by saying the Zach Wilson era should end.

“He cannot be out on the field ever again for the Jets, and I’m going to tell you why,” Greenberg said on ESPN’s Get Up on Monday. “Their chances of winning anything this year are over. They’re not remote. They’re done. They need to try and keep this thing together, and if they run Zach Wilson out there one more time, [wide receiver] Garrett Wilson’s gonna lose it. [running back] Michael Carter was losing it. They’re all gonna lose it.”

Greenberg was referring to drama on New York’s sideline, where Carter was seen getting in the face of running backs coach Taylor Embree, and the wideout appeared to take his frustrations out on his quarterback as the team was losing to the Patriots

Wilson is on pace to finish with the worst passer rating in the NFL for the third consecutive year and is currently sitting at just 467 passing yards with two touchdown passes to four interceptions in three games this season.

“But the bottom line of it is they can’t put him back out on the field,” Greenberg continued. “Sunday night against Kansas City? That team is ready to fracture.”

The Jets are set to play host to the Chiefs on Sunday Night Football in Week 4, with kickoff slated for 8:20 p.m. ET.
