Ravens Fear Mark Andrews Suffered Season-Ending Injury, John Harbaugh Says

Ravens star tight end Mark Andrews went down with an ankle injury during the first half of Thursday’s win against the rival Bengals.

During his postgame press conference, coach John Harbaugh told reporters that the team believes the injury may be severe enough to keep Andrews sidelined for the remainder of the season.

“Unfortunately, on the negative side, Mark Andrews has a very serious ankle injury. It looks like a season-ending injury,” said Harbaugh.

“Our prayers will be with Mark. Nobody cares more about the team and being there for the guys then Mark Andrews, so this is going to be hard for him but we’re going to be there for him all the way.”

Andrews’ injury is a big loss for Baltimore’s offense. The tight end had two catches for 23 yards before exiting on Thursday. He leads the Ravens with six receiving touchdowns, and is second on the team behind Zay Flowers in receptions, targets, and receiving yards.

Lamar Jackson spoke on Andrews’ troubling injury update, calling the situation “very tough.”

“That’s the guy who I went to the league with. My bread and butter, peanut butter and jelly... That’s my receiver one sometimes. For him to go out in the first quarter, when he was having a remarkable year... that’s tough,” said Jackson, via ESPN’s Jamison Hensley.

With Andrews out, Isaiah Likely will be Baltimore’s top tight end, with Charlie Kolar moving into the No. 2 spot on the depth chart.
